I've seen artist go years without fully grasping the most fundamental concepts needed to work from the ground up. The human head is one of the most difficult things to sculpt. If you're unable to update your copy of zBrush, try using the included file instead - it only includes the mannequin heads and eyes, but it was saved using zBrush version 4R7, so it should be readable by any versions of zBrush from 2016 to the present (but not zBrushCore).
